weekend fun

well, yet another fun and exciting weekend come and gone.

friday night i met up with my aunt & family friends that were in town, followed by a dinner. and after that a friend and i went to snitch for a little bit. it was good to see a few familar faces in the crowd.

saturday was the big day of prom '06. i went to E's to get ready. the rest of the bwe crew arrived shortly thereafter. we exchanged corsages and boutineires to make the experience all that more authentic, after which we took cabs to the aviation marina on east 23rd street, where we boarded the "half moon". here's a picture of me pinning the corsage on M:

once we boarded the boat, the booze started flowing and the 80s music was blaring. even though the ride lasted about three hours, it felt a lot shorter. overall, it was a lot of fun. thank goodness no one fell over or peed off the back of the boat. well, at least not that i know of. but from the looks of this picture, it looks like we all had a pretty good time:

we even got a beautiful view of new york city at night from the east river:

afterward we went to the post show party at our friend's apartment. i stayed for a few hours and then hit the "prom after party" at 2nd on 2nd karaoke. but i only stayed for about a half hour since my shoes were officially killing me after wearing them for seven hours. it was around the time in the night that i wished i could chop off my feet that i thought i should call it a night. so i shared a cab with my friends C&J and went back to my friend E's apartment and stayed at her place for the night.

i slept in this morning and gathered my stuff and started walking to the subway to go home when i ran across this on the sidewalk.

in case you can't tell, those are someone's underwear. i wish i knew what prompted this person to just take off their skivvies and leave them on the sidewalk. i mean, they probably belonged to a homeless person, but it's still pretty mysterious. and even though it has nothing to do with our prom night, it almost seemed fitting for me to include this photo of someone's hanes on the sidewalk as a way to end this story.
