there were millions of happy new yorkers today. for the first time in weeks, we had another beautiful day of sunshine. show us the slightest bit of warm weather and you see people outside in sunglasses, skirts/tank tops/shorts. not to mention everyone who owned a dog was outside walking it.
i decided to take advantage of the nice weather and walk around the city. i mean, it's not often that we have a day as beautiful as los angeles. sure, they have beautiful weather the other 364 days of the year, but today, new yorkers had it made.
i decided to head off to barnes & noble to get a few books since i haven't had any new reading material in a while. and of course while there were at least a dozen books that caught my eye, i decided on these three for now (with a few others on my wish list): night by elie wiesel, playing with boys by alisa valdes-rodriguez, and sex, drugs, and cocoa puffs* by chuck klosterman.
after leaving the bookstore, i decided to go to urban outfitters, but ended up not buying anything. i stopped by dean & deluca afterward to grab a bite to eat. i don't think i've been to that dean & deluca in at least a year. it just reminded me of the time that i worked there my sophmore year of college. walking through that neighborhood always reminds me of so many college memories. and speaking of college, while i was walking down university place, i passed by my freshman year crush. i haven't seen him in at least 5 years. dave, you still look good.
on my subway ride home, i decided to make a pit stop to fufill a craving i've had for what seems like weeks. i paid a visit to the wonderful buttercup bake shop and bought myself a half dozen cupcakes. yum.
tonight i'll visit one more neighborhood before the day's over. i'll be visiting the upper west for a friend's housewarming party. if there are embarassing pictures, i'll be sure to post 'em.
