remember the days of "fight for your right"? what was that, 1986-ish? granted, i was six years old, but i was always into music. and that was the era that mtv played music videos. that's how i'll forever remember the beastie boys. just a bunch of silly 20-somethings making fun rap music.
well now look at them:
actually, ad-rock doesn't look too bad and mike d looks pretty alight. but oh mca, the salt and pepper look doesn't exactly do wonders for beards.
today i went to manhattan to walk around and bask in the beautiful weather in nyc. in the late afternoon i went to a hotel suite to support a friend. NO, nothing like that you pervs. vh1 and entertainment weekly are partnering up for a new show called "the world series of pop culture" which will be hosted by ny1's pat kiernan. i guess unless you live in the tri-state area, you have no clue who he is, but he has been on "best week ever" on occasion. anyway, they did a game today between 2 teams each consisting of three people: team "best week ever" vs. team entertainment weekly. i won't give away who wins. they're going to do a write up about it in EW in an upcoming issue. it was fun to watch. they should make a home version of the game cause i had fun thinking of the answers in my head.
in other news, it seems that babies are everywhere. my cousin L called to tell me that her daughter K (technically my second cousin, but i call her my cousin as well) had her baby boy yesterday. an april fool's baby. i wonder what that means. anyway, L proceeded to send a few family members a picture of said newborn baby boy. i was excited to see the picture. i opened it up and there he was, cute as can be...along with his umbilical cord still attached and my cousin K's legs spread wide open with her hoo hah for everyone to see. if L or my mom had sent a picture like that of me around to our family after i gave birth, i'd be pissed. whenever that day comes, i'll be sure that no one in the delivery room has a camera. i think the kodak moment can wait until everyone is cleaned up. anyway, i'm posting the rated G, cropped version of the picture. everyone welcome baby ian.
well, the weekend is gone and once again a new week starts. let the countdown to friday begin.
