i went to a screening of the prestige tonight. i didn't see the illusionist (the other movie about magicians), but another friend who went who did see it said the prestige was better. i guess i'll have to watch the illusionist and see for myself.

let's just start with the cast. three of the hottest actors (i think) are in it: christian bale, hugh jackman, and scarlett johannson. andy serkis is also in it. i'm glad he's gettng work that does'nt involve him in front of a green screen or cgi acting. and then i was completely blown away by david bowie. i had no idea he was in the movie! he doesn't have a major role, but he was good. then of course michael caine is in it, who i love. and to top it all off, it was directed by christopher nolan.

the plot was good. i can't say i read the book it was based on, but it was entertaining. after the movie was over, a lady in the bathroom said that it was "a little too long", but i thought it was just fine. it was suspenseful at times and not too predictable.

overall, i'd pay to see this movie. worth the ten bucks.
