the windy city

my friend and i have been talking about flying to chicago for about the last week or so. one of his friends (who i also know, but is definitely more a friend of his) is moving to chicago later this month. i'm not exactly sure how the conversation started, but before you know it, we started talking about flights to chicago and st. patrick's day. this is what the chicago river looks like on st. patrick's day:i love st. patrick's day. and i love to travel. and i've never been to chicago. albeit, march probably isn't the most ideal time since it is still cold and could snow, but i don't care. it'll be fun to a) get out of the city and b) go to a place i've never been to with friends.

i think the funniest part of this is the actual buying of my ticket. i bought it with my unemployment debit/credit card. (quick backstory: the ny state department of labor doesn't issue checks anymore, they issue credit on a debit card that they issue you) now i was definitely unemployed and not working when i got that money (and it was only for two weeks). but i'm fully employed now and i wanted to buy the fare before it went up. i mean, when else can you get a cheaper than $39 each way? it's done. i've bought the ticket. however, i can't help that someone is monitoring my spending habits on that card. ATM withdrawals, trips to food emporium, the pet food store, and JET BLUE. um, yeah. please don't cut me off.

now all i have to do is work on that "kiss me even though i'm not irish" t-shirt...
