well thank goodness, i was beginning to worry

a co-worker of mine sent me an e-mail yesterday titled "this is hilarious". if that isn't screaming "open me! open me!" i don't know what would.

so after i clicked on this link, this is what i discovered: apparently hourly hotels still exist. no, i'm not kidding. yes, i'm totally serious.

Nowhere are New York's high hotel prices more damaging than in the realm of hourly sex motels. Of course, those with pretensions of class and large bankrolls will treat their partner to nice hotel and just spring for the nightly rate. But who wants to make a habit of such waste, when a quick nooner only requires an hour or two? Fortunately, there are still plenty of convenient NYC hotels that charge
by the hour, even if you probably never want to see the interiors in full
sunlight (rarely a problem!). To assist those with tight budgets or a kink for
the sordid, here's our guide to New York's hourly hotels d'amour.

Airway Inn: This locale, next to LaGuardia, could deter anyone who isn't already marooned in Queens. However, the airport location gives it some credibility -- instead of renting hourly rooms exclusively to prostitutes, they also rent to travelers enduring long layovers. Rates are $61 for four hours, plus $13 for each
additional hour. After 9 p.m., it's $70 for four hours and $13 for each
additional hour.

Days Inn, Brooklyn: Sure, it's not much to look at, but at least with a
national chain you know you're entitled to at least the pretense of quality
control. Every New York hood deserves a worthwhile hourly hotel of this
estimable caliber. Days Inn charges $49 for three hours.

Manhattan Hotel: Though you can find a good number of hourly hotels around Times Square, this one is a sure bet. They're located right in midtown, charge $65 for three hours, and don't seem too dirty (relatively speaking). The place is ugly as hell, but we don't think you'll catch anything from the sheets. (No guarantees.)

you get the picture. i mean, there are more "hotels" (if you can call them that) listed. i'm hoping these aren't listed on orbitz or hotels.com or something. gr-oss. i think just entering any of those rooms, nay, the hotel might give you some sort of infectious std or something.

thank goodness these places still exist. i mean where will all those prostitutes and cheating husbands and wives have their illicit affairs? not everyone can afford the ritz carlton for a quick romp in the sack.

so consider this post a warning, not a recommendation.
