a ridiculous e-mail/statement from nyc.gov in regards to the humid and hot weather nyc will be experiencing over the next three days:
During this hot and humid week, New Yorkers should hydrate, avoid strenuous outdoor activity, and stay in the shade when outside. Remember to check on neighbors who may need assistance. Seniors, young children, and people with special needs are particularly susceptible to heat-related illnesses.
Other ways New Yorkers can stay cool:
--Wear loose-fitting, light-colored clothes
--Keep body temperature low by taking cool baths or showers, but avoid extreme temperature changes
--Use an air conditioner if you have one
i'm sure an e-mail from con ed will follow saying to "limit air conditioner use" whenever possible. either that or another black out. that would suck. nyc in the summer SUCKS sometimes.
