well, another year come and gone. i'm gonna sound cliche for a second and say that i can't believe that 2007 is over. it truly feels like it came and went in the blink of an eye.
i laid pretty low this NYE. in years past i've gone to some huge parties, traveled to las vegas, etc. but i this year i was all about just hanging out with close friends. so my friends hosted a very small get together at their apartment. just six of us. and i couldn't have been happier. there were games, there were drinks, there was music, and most of all, good company. and i didn't have to pay a hundred dollars to get a ticket to go. didn't have to worry about buying a new dress. or having a date. so 2008 started as great as it could have in my book.
i do wonder about what this year holds for me. so i'm going to set a few goals for myself. i don't really believe in resolutions, because i think those are made to be broken. but a goal is essentially something more realistic, as opposed to an empty promise. so with that said, here are a few of my "goals": go to the gym 4 times a week, go to church regularly, run a half marathon (maybe not this year, but i want to maybe throw it in there), go on more dates, keep my current job or find a better one, and keep making efforts to keep in touch with long distance friends via e-mails/mail/phone calls.
unrealistic? i don't think so. maybe a bit ambitious. but i think those are attainable goals. this year also brings a few important events. my 10 year high school reunion, one of my best friend's wedding, said friend is moving away from nyc, my cousin's wedding in which i'm a bridesmaid. i think it's gonna be a good year.
