conversations with my family: mom edition

1/03/2009 03:14:00 PM / Posted by [redacted] /

yesterday, i received an e-mail from my mom around 10:00am. i got busy and forgot to reply back the entire day.

around 5:30pm, i missed a phone call from her. the voicemail said, "hi...just wanted to see how you were doing. um...i'll talk to you later. ok. bye." basically, my mom was using her annoyed/worried voice.

approximately 10 minutes later, i received a text from her:
"r u ok?"

that's where i decided to just pick up the phone and call her back.

phone rings
me: hello?
mom: laughter
me: why are you laughing?
mom: because.
me: you got worried, didn't you?
mom: well i haven't heard from you since new year's eve. a lot could've happened.
me: mom, it's been a DAY.
mom: i just wanted to know you were ok...

this is what happens when i don't return an e-mail, phone call, and text within 12 hours of each other. mom enters panic mode. i call her back. we laugh. repeat.
