i ventured out to west new york, new jersey for the superbowl. my friends were gracious to invite a bunch of people over and needless to say, fun times were had.
HOWEVER--
only one quarter of the game had passed when low and behold, one of our friend pulled the data card out of the cable box and needless to say, PEOPLE FREAKED THE FREAK OUT (myself included). we were convinced the cable box was ruined and we would miss the superbowl. here's a picture of her next to the TV (which has a message about how the data card was pulled out).

poor G. she genuinely felt bad. although at one point, she was like, "guys, it's only one football game." obviously she didn't realize the superbowl is the pinnacle of NFL season. bless her heart. thankfully, the cable box returned to normal about 15 minutes later. so i only missed a handful of commercials. but as the alec baldwin commercial pointed out, i can find all the superbowl ads on hulu. phew!
all in all a great night and a great game. the only way it could've been any more fun is if i was emotionally invested in one of the teams. and now i have to wait 6 1/2 more months for football season to start up again. thank god for baseball season to fill the void.
