‘Rock of Ages’ Cast Parties on to Broadway
The coming Broadway transfer of “Rock of Ages,” the improbably successful musical pieced together from power-chord ballads by Journey, Bon Jovi and other ’80s-era bands, has announced its complete cast. Constantine Maroulis, the “American Idol” finalist who starred in the show’s Off Broadway run at New World Stages, will return in the lead role of Drew, the aspiring Los Angeles rock star. He’ll be joined by Amy Spanger (of Broadway’s “Wedding Singer”) and James Carpinello (Broadway’s “Saturday Night Fever”). Previews for “Rock of Ages” are scheduled to begin on March 17 at the Brooks Atkinson Theater, and the show is to open on April 7.
