last night i left work around 5:45 or so and at the corner of 50th and broadway, right outside my building, was designer patricia field. native new yorkers might know her from her flagship store on 8th street. she's most famously known for being the costume designer on "sex and the city". and i believe now she's the current cstume designer for "hope and faith" starring kelly ripa and perhaps even one of the soap operas that tapes here in nyc. she was standing outside a trailer and smoking a cigarette, so i'm assuming she was working on one of the shows she works on.
today was a semi-productive day. cleaned the apartment. did my laundry (and my "did" i mean "dropped off and had the lovely people at the laundromat do it for me"). watched the movie red eye thanks to my blockbuster version of netflix and dropped that sucker in the mailbox. i was thinking about it while i was watching, i think if rachel mcadams wasn't in that movie, i wouldn't have rented it. i would've dismissed it as yet another cliche suspense movie that had that guy from batman begins (cillian murphy) and just so happened to be directed by wes craven. funny what a little star power can do. and she's not even a big star...yet.
not really in the mood to comb the headlines (sorry), but i did find this one interesting:
"myspace used to track down rape and robbery suspects". (source: cnn)
happy saturday!
