last night a few of my friends and i went to this freelander happy hour thing. the people who put it together host one of these parties like every 3 months or so. last night's event was at taj. normally i would avoid that place for a few reasons: 1) it's on 21st street. right across the street from duvet. i.e. clubs that i usually avoid. 2) it is a lounge. 3) it has a one word name (i.e. see "duvet" and "bed".

i was completely surprised though. there was a big crowd, famliar faces, and nice people overall. the only thing that killed me was paying $6 for a beer. which by new york city standards, isn't bad at all. but then i think of the bars that serve $2 and $3 beers and i think, damn.

an interesting thing that was brought up last night...my friend who just came back from la after working on a project there for the last 5 months mentioned she was gonna move there in august. and anyone that knows me knows that i've been contemplating making the move to the west coast for forever and a day. so i have some serious thinking and decisions to make in the next 2 or 3 months.
