i took this photo on the UWS recently. i didn't think it was possible for them to make a hot dog and beverage combo any cheaper, but apparently their "recession special" takes another dollar off. that's gotta make it $3 bucks, tops.
is it even possible for gray's papaya to lower their prices?
last night i went to dinner at craftbar in nyc. it's more "casual dining" than colicchio's signature restaurant, craft. but judging from the food i had last night, i'd never be able to tell.
i wanted so badly to find a king cake to bring into the office today. i only thought it would be appropriate considering today is mardi gras. but alas, after visiting 3 bakeries and calling a 4th, my search was a massive FAIL.

"what is it with girls and cupcakes?" (or something like that)
while on the phone with a friend of mine the other day, i excitedly told him that i found the new cupcake place that had opened up in our neighborhood (said friend and i live in the same 'hood). he asked me "what is it with girls and cupcakes" (not verbatim, but you get the idea). i'm not sure what my reply was, and i'm not sure there's a scientific answer, but i love 'em. on a sidenote, if the government wants to give me money to study this, i'd be happy to, as long as they pay for my gym membership too, cause i'll need it after eating so many cupcakes!
